Nordiska Plast Shopping Basket Basic, 20 L

The Nordiska Plast Basic is the pioneer of the plastic shopping basket: a light, compact 20-litre basket that is easy to carry and easy to store. Corner shops, convenience stores, petrol stations and specialist shops are its natural home, and in a smaller store a 20-litre basket is usually all a customer needs.

The basket measures 440 × 310 × 210 mm and weighs 530 g. The body is moulded in polypropylene and the black handle in glass-fibre-reinforced polypropylene. Nordiska Plast makes the Basic in six standard colours (white, black, red, blue, green and light grey) and can supply other colours and printed logos for larger orders, so the basket can carry a store's branding.

Nordiska Plast produced one of the world's first plastic shopping baskets in the early 1960s and still makes them at its own facility in Gislaved, Sweden. A matching trolley turns the Basic into a rolling basket.
