Cubigel Refrigeration Compressor NUY70RAa VE16, R290, 6.7 cm³

The Cubigel NUY70RA is a hermetically sealed R290 motor-compressor from the Cubigel U range, supplied on its own: the compressor only, without condenser, fan, base plate or electrical accessories. It is the compressor fitted inside Cubigel CNUY70RA condensing units, and the part to order when the compressor itself has failed but the rest of the system is sound.

It has a displacement of 6.70 cm³ per revolution, runs on 220-240 V 50 Hz single phase, and is built for HMBP duty, high and medium back pressure, meaning chilled rather than frozen applications. The motor is a CSIR type, which starts on a capacitor and runs without one, and the compressor is fan-cooled, so it has to sit where the condenser fan blows across it.

R290 (propane) has a global warming potential of 3 and contains no fluorine, so it sits outside the EU F-gas phase-down entirely. It is also flammable, safety class A3, which is why installation, charging and service belong to a qualified refrigeration technician.
