Description

The Naniwa Sharpening Whetstone A1900000 is a dual-sided combination water stone, 185 x 65 x 30 mm, with a 220 grit face and a 1000 grit face for professional knife maintenance in kitchens, butcheries and catering operations. The 220 grit side is a coarse grit that removes material quickly, for grinding out chips and restoring damaged edges, and the 1000 grit side is used for the actual sharpening stage, refining the edge after the coarse grinding.

It belongs to the Naniwa Basic Stone range of combined double-grain whetstones, which are suited to those new to sharpening on stone and need to be soaked in water before use. The stone comes in a plastic case that doubles as a non-slip stone holder, so it stays steady on the bench during service.

Naniwa Abrasive was founded in Osaka, Japan, in 1941 and is a leading manufacturer of professional sharpening stones. Ambrogio Sanelli partners with Naniwa to promote stone sharpening skills among professionals.
