Description
The WAS Maya Shiro Plate (300 mm) is a hard-porcelain HoReCa dinner plate, sold in a set of 2, designed for professional catering operations, restaurants, hotels and cafés. Fired at above 1400 °C at WAS's Schönwald facility in Germany's Upper Palatinate, each plate delivers the dense, chip-resistant structure that high-turnover service demands — without sacrificing the clean, minimal aesthetic that works across modern plating styles.
The Maya Shiro series was developed in collaboration with industrial designer Stefan Diez and catering consultant Andrea Lenardin. The name references the Japanese word for white, and the bright, high-gloss glaze is engineered specifically for scratch and edge-impact resistance — holding its finish through repeated commercial dishwasher cycles. The thick-walled construction keeps the 300 mm format stable and balanced in the hand, making it equally at home on a fine-dining pass or a busy hotel breakfast buffet.
