The Hoshizaki FM-1200 ALKE-SB is a modular flake ice maker for high-volume professional use, producing up to 1,200 kg of flake ice per 24 hours while drawing just 0.47 kW — making it one of the most energy-efficient options in its output class. The unit ships with a compatible stainless steel storage bin and is sized for busy kitchens, fishmongers, seafood counters, food processing operations, and large hotel or catering facilities that need a continuous, reliable supply of soft flake ice.
Engineering highlights set the FM-1200 ALKE-SB apart from conventional machines: the auger is machined from double-hardened stainless steel and runs on grease-free carbon graphite bushings instead of ball bearings, eliminating lubrication maintenance and reducing contamination risk. A closed water circuit converts all incoming water to ice with zero bleed-off, cutting water consumption significantly. The extruding head uses wide channels and multi-blade cutters to produce consistent flake ice, and a qualified technician can reconfigure the head to produce nugget ice if operational needs change.
The intuitive control display includes preventive maintenance indicators to flag service intervals before issues arise, keeping downtime minimal. As a modular head unit, the FM-1200 ALKE-SB is fully compatible with the Hoshizaki range of modular bases and bins, giving operators flexibility to expand storage capacity as the business grows.
